On 30.06.2024, an exam for technical degrees in Korean kickboxing (Kun Gek Do) was held in the sports hall of TC “Euroatlas”. The Technical Committee was composed of Senior Master Boris Atanasov (VIII dan) – Chairman of Advanced Taekwon-do Europe ATEU and Master Mario Iliev (VII dan) – Chairman of the ATEU Instructor Board.

The fighters from the Martial Arts Academy demonstrated all aspects of the martial art: shadow fighting, sparring, self-defense and a strength test.

Top competitors Valentin Andonov and Ivan Ivanov, who are multiple champions, holders of black belts (I dan) from IKF and members of the ATEU instructor board, presented in an extremely attractive way the new martial art for our latitudes Kun Gek Do. They played sparring “Full contact”, but not with one, but against two opponents. Then they presented real self-defense in the style of “Street fight” against an unarmed or armed attacker with a knife or pipe. For the finale, they broke four-centimeter boards with their hands and feet.

The other two participants in the exam Dimitar Mantarkov and Miroslav Bozhilov, who have already proven themselves in the ring, winning medals, also performed excellently. Dimitar defended a red belt, and Miroslav – a blue one. They played sparring, but 1 on 1, made spectacular self-defense and broke two-centimeter boards.

For a long-term and significant contribution to the development of martial arts at national and international level, the “Honorary” V dan was awarded to Assoc. prof. Phd Ilian Boyanov – Chairman of the Viking Club. The instructor of the Euroatlas Club and member of the ATEU Instructor Board Tommy Gizdov was promoted to V dan in Taekwon-Do.

The impressive event ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding the certificates by Master Iliev, and SM Atanasov presented the participants with ATEU membership badges and the new embroidered badges of Kun Gek Do, which can be sewn on the outfits (T-shirts, tracksuits, sweatshirts, hats, etc.).
