Advanced Taekwon-Do Europe ATEU led by the bright thought of Steve Jobs “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower“, develops and introduces several innovations such as:

ATEU offers an innovative, flexible scheme for cooperation with structures developing Taekwon-Do, with mutual interest.  An attractive option is the free membership, with a commitment for the instructor to conduct technical exams in Advanced Taekwon-Do.

The instructor is authorized to conduct technical grades/degree examinations (Gup/Dan) for his students under the terms and conditions of the ATEU. Children under the age of 7 can be tested for children’s degrees (Kid Level). The new Advanced Taekwon-Do technical degrees are certified by ATEU.

ATEU offers a compensation solution for Taekwon-Do instructors who have many years of experience, but are lagging in technical degrees (Dan). Such a lag may be a consequence of objective factors – lack of examiner or inability to participate in an international seminar. Then it is possible to shorten the period for the instructor next higher technical degree test.

In 2011, ATEU introduced three levels of training and assessment for preschoolers – Kid Level. The three Kid Levels are introductory and the need for them is analogous to preschool preparation in kindergarten for school. Preschool degrees Kid Level, take place between the white belt that the child receives as a beginner and the 9th Goop (the first school degree, for which an examination is taken). Children holding Kid Level are tested for their first degree in a lightweight program.

Black belt can be promoted without age restriction, as requirements are provided for different age groups.

In 2015, a completely new black belt test format was applied, different from the standard “rigid” scheme, in which the instructor sets techniques and counts in Korean. The new format is called Blitz Black Belt Test and was developed by the team of Advanced Taekwon-Do Europe. This test is extremely suitable for online / offline exams.

At the beginning of 2020, ATEU conducted the first successful distance exam for a technical degree.  For anyone wishing to be promoted to a technical degree Goop or Dan in Advanced Taekwon-Do is an opportunity for promotion. It is necessary to apply and send videos and photos with the performance of techniques required for the new degree. With fulfilled criteria, ATEU issues the relevant certificate for the new degree.

Next belt now is an innovation that allows promoting a trained practitioner during an event (training, seminar or camp) without a pre-planned exam.

In Advance Taekwon-Do an additional degree is included between the levels of Gup and Dan – a candidate for a black belt. The degree is called “Poom” and is intended for practitioners under a certain age.

In different international organizations, this age varies between 9 and 16 years. The instructor assesses how old the limit should be, depending on the case.
